To support the changes on 25th May 2018 in European data law, known as GDPR, we’ve updated our Privacy Policy to provide clear information on how we handle, store and protect your personal data.

Consent

In specific situations, we can collect and process your data with your consent – if you enquire with us via our contact us page on our website, we will collect and use this information in order to contact you as requested and provide information on the services offered by the business. When collecting your personal data, we’ll always make clear to you which data is necessary in connection with a particular service.  We will not add you to a waiting list, without your consent.

Your Right to Withdraw Consent

Whenever you have given us your consent to use your personal data, you have the right to change your mind at any time and withdraw that consent however we will still be required to hold your information for 7 years if you have used our services and we have invoiced you, for legal reasons.

Contractual Obligations

In certain circumstances, we need your personal data to comply with our contractual obligations to provide our services. The data we use and process will only be used and processed by the business and it’s employees for the purposes of delivering services within the business.

What Sort Of Personal Data Do We Collect?

If you enquire or request a service we will process contact information and details of the service to be provided. If you request a service from Welland Valley Pet Care we will require only information and personal data, detailed on our registration forms relevant to providing the requested service. This could include but is not limited to your name, contact details, the name and contact details of an emergency contact person, the name and contact information for your veterinarian and pet insurance company and any information relating to your pet, and your home in order for us to access your pet for the purposes of delivering the services you have requested. Your social media username, if you interact with us through those channels, to help us respond to your comments, questions or feedback.

How is Data Stored?

We know how much data security matters to all our clients. With this in mind we will treat your data with the utmost care and take all appropriate steps to protect it. Access to your personal data is password protected when held in cloud-based software or secured in a locked cabinet if held in hard copy. Employees of the business are required by their employment contracts to respect the privacy of your data and only process this information in conjunction with the terms of their employment contract and when working for the business.  The systems used for processing and storing your data are password protected. Any keys used to access properties are labelled in a coded manner without any personal information.

How Long Will We Keep Your Personal Data?

Whenever we collect or process your personal data, we’ll only keep it for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. At the end of that retention period, your data will either be deleted completely or anonymised, for example by aggregation with other data so that it can be used in a non-identifiable way for statistical analysis and business planning.

Email Links

If you email us directly, or via an email mail to hyperlink the email is transmitted to us via the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). Depending on your email provider, the email contents may or may not be encrypted from the point at which it leaves your computer until it reaches your email provider or in some cases, until it reaches us. We have no control over this, but most popular email providers like Gmail do provide end-to-end encryption.

Third Party Links & Marketing

This website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy notice of every website you visit.

We will not pass your details to any third parties or use your information for marketing purposes.

Our website may use “cookies” to enhance Customer / User experience. A user’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them.  You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies or to alert you when websites set or access cookies.
