About Us
At Welland Valley Pet Care, we’ve been proudly offering friendly, reliable and professional dog walking and pet visiting services across Market Harborough and the Welland Valley since 2016. We know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so we treat every animal as part of our family—keeping them active, happy and cared for when you can’t be there.
We provide small group dog walks, individual dog walks, comfort visits, companionship visits and even safe off‑lead fun in our own secure field. Every service is tailored to your pet’s needs.
I’m the area’s only City & Guilds–qualified dog walker and pet sitter, with over 25 years of hands‑on experience in rescue centres, veterinary settings and animal care. I’m DBS checked, fully insured and committed to ongoing professional development. With support from my small, experienced team during busy periods, we aim to meet every aspect of your pet’s daily routine.
Our custom‑fitted van ensures safe, comfortable travel for all breeds, and we carry essential equipment including a pet first aid kit, tracker and microchip scanner. Have a browse around the site and get in touch—We’d love to help care for your pet!

Services
Our services are designed to meet the unique needs of every pet. From dog walking to pet care visits, we provide a range of services to make every day easier for you and and happier for your pets. Caring for your pets like they're part of our family!
Please note that for all other species of pet care, we will need to visit your pet at least once every 24 hours.
An enhanced holiday rate applies to all services booked on Easter Sunday.
We do not provide any overnight care, day care or boarding. Our services are limited to scheduled drop‑in visits only.
Dog Walking
Regular or ad-hoc dog walking, groups or individual. We like to keep walks interesting for your dog, utilising parks, recreational grounds, fields & bridleways, canal towpaths, woodlands and even through town. We also have our own private field, solely for our use.
Whilst insured for up to groups of 6 dogs, we find groups of 2-4 are much more fun!
Not everyone needs a dog walker the same day each week due to hybrid working, others may only need term time only - No worries, let us know what you need and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs.

Visits & Companionship
Offering an alternative to a walk, our canine care & companionship visits are also ideal for those requiring special attention, such as puppies, adult dogs, elderly companions or those recovering from illness & surgery.
Just let us know what you need and we will design a bespoke visit for your canine companions needs.
We also have an enrichment toy box full of activity toys, snuffle mats, puzzle toys, treat balls, different sized balls, plush, vinyl, rope and rubber toys to play with. Sounds like fun? - Just let us know and we can bring that along too!

Comfort Breaks
Perfect for when you just need someone to pop in and check that your dog is ok, feed, and to let them out.
Ideal for those dogs that like to just be let out in the garden, or in the case of those dogs that like to do their business out and about, we can take them for a short 10 minute walk!

Cat Visiting
At Welland Valley Pet Care, we get it — leaving your cat can feel like a mission. Friends busy, family away, cattery guilt… meanwhile your cat just wants to stay king or queen of their castle. That’s where we swoop in.
We create visits tailored to your cat’s quirks and comforts, all while they chill at home.
Choose once or twice‑daily visits and we’ll handle the essentials: feeding, fresh water, clean bowls, litter trays, meds if needed — plus all the cuddles, playtime and company your cat desires. If they prefer to be admired from a distance, we respect that too.

Small Animal Visiting
We offer a daily drop‑in service for all your smaller furry friends, giving you a stress‑free alternative to boarding.
Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, degus, chinchillas, mice, rats, ferrets — they’re all welcome.
Choose once‑ or twice‑daily visits and we’ll take care of everything: feeding to your instructions, fresh water, clean bowls, tidy hutches and cages, and keeping your pet’s routine on track. And of course, playtime, fuss and cuddles come as standard.
Going away for more than 7 days? Just let us know if you’d like a full hutch or cage clean to keep things fresh and odour‑free (additional fee applies).

Poultry & Avian Care
We offer a bespoke care service for your feathered friends while you’re away — a stress‑free alternative to relying on neighbours or boarding.
We can let out your chickens, ducks, geese and guinea fowl each morning, and tuck them safely back into their coop at dusk if needed. Caged birds can be let out too, but only on request.
Your birds will get fresh food and water daily, and we’ll collect any eggs waiting for you. We’ll also keep their coop or cage clean and stick to their usual routine as much as possible. And yes — gentle interaction and attention come as standard.
Going away for more than 7 days? Just let us know if you’d like a full coop, pen or cage clean to keep everything fresh and odour‑free (additional fee applies).

Fish & Aquatic Care
We offer a simple, stress‑free service to keep your fish happy, healthy and well‑fed while you’re away — so you can relax knowing everything underwater is running smoothly.
We’ll follow your fish’s usual routine, popping in once or twice a day as needed to feed them, check their setup and make sure all is calm in their little world.
This service is available for cold‑water fish, tropical fish and pond fish — everyone from goldfish to koi gets the VIP treatment!

Reptile Care
Heading away on holiday or off for work? We’ve got your reptiles covered.
We’ll pop in to make sure your reptile has everything it needs for a chilled, comfortable day at home. Food and fresh water are taken care of, thermostat settings checked, and cages or vivarium's tidied as needed — all while keeping to their usual routine.
Whether you’ve got a gecko, snake, tortoise, dragon or anything in between, they’ll get calm, confident care and a watchful eye.
Away for more than 7 days? Just let us know if you’d like a full clean of their enclosure to keep things fresh and odour‑free (additional fee applies).

Feeding & Medication Visits
We also offer dedicated feeding and medication visits for pets who need a little extra care. This might be an extra meal to keep tummies happy, or a quick visit if you’re out for the day and won’t make it back in time for their usual dinner.
Our carer is City & Guilds qualified in the safe use of veterinary medicines and is veterinary experienced in giving meds orally, topically and by injection — always following your vet’s guidance.
A calm, confident service to keep your pet comfortable, cared for and right on schedule while you’re away.
